The Craft Bakers Association (CBA) is thrilled to announce an exclusive new member benefit through the BakeCare programme. This service offers comprehensive maintenance coverage for bakery equipment at industry-competitive rates, specially negotiated by the CBA to provide exceptional value to members.

Available throughout the UK, BakeCare’s maintenance programme is tailored to address all key aspects of bakery operations, ensuring that your equipment is well-maintained, reliable and ready to support your business.

How it works

Members wishing to access this benefit will have their bakery equipment asset-tagged by BakeCare’s service partners. Three levels of tagging are available, depending on your needs.

Once equipment is asset-tagged, members gain access to BakeCare services, including reporting breakdowns and scheduling maintenance through the efficient MaintainX function.

Equipment breakdowns process

  • When a breakdown occurs, the member will use the asset tag and “Maintain X” function to report the equipment issue. Full training in regards tousing the portal to report faults will be provided during the on-site asset tagging phase (“medium” and “high” BakeCareset-up). Any members that use the “low” asset tagging set-up will be sent guidance around using Maintain X via e-mail

  • The BakeCare service partners will receive the equipment breakdown alert and contact the member to discuss the problem in more detail. Attendance will also be arranged at this point

  • Based on other equipment breakdowns that have been reported the BakeCare service partners will assess each call-out based on the severity of the breakdown, engineer availability and identification of any parts that are required. BakeCare members are prioritised by the service providers

  • Based on the expertise required the BakeCare service partners will then attend the breakdown call-out and aim to get the fault (or faults) rectified as quickly as possible. If any equipment is beyond economical repair, then this will be discussed with the member whilst still on-site
